Contractor Logistics Support

(CLS)

A four-day presentation on the concepts and application of CLS.  The course begins with a discussion of the concepts and underlying issues which have evolved into the current trend of CLS.  Then the detailed technical aspects of CLS implementation are discussed, followed by the business issues which must be considered.  Particular attention is given to estimating the cost of CLS.  Finally, the course addresses establishment of performance objectives, performance monitoring, and incentives and penalties.  The presentation provides a balanced view of CLS of both the MoD and the Contractor.  Each issue of the presentation is illustrated through use of experience on actual programmes

	Critical Issues: What is CLS? What does CLS actually include? How are CLS requirements identified? How much should CLS cost? How should the MoD organise to implement and monitor CLS? How should the Contractor organise to meet CLS requirements? How are realistic CLS performance objectives established? How is CLS performance monitored? What are appropriate CLS incentives and penalties? What are the critical issues for a viable CLS contract? What are the critical aspects for Contractors to be successful and profitable? How does the MoD assure value for money?
